Damien Jurado
Passing the Elephants
His body was moved from the city
He gave all his things to the Salvation Army bin
Placing his shoes on the lawn
Most of us knew him as Mark

Back in the day sleeping in her arms
Then she went away too long

I've seen him walk by from my open kitchen window;
At times he would sing to his kids on the phone
He kept to himself most of the time
But always "Hello" when he pass by the yard

Back in the day sleeping in her arms
Then she went away too long

As for sale, public viewing sunday
I made other plans

Back in the day sleeping in her arm
Then she wеnt away too long

Ah Da da da da
Ah da da da da
