Towards The Dawn
[Intro]
A twenty-seven thousand mile east-west flight around the world at the equator
Cinching a mighty aeronautical belt around the globe
Our woman flier will continue on a pioneering aero—
Aviatrix and America's first lady of the air
If she succeeds, she will have written aviation history

[Verse 1]
I have a feeling that there's just about one more good flight left in me and I hope this trip is it
Everything okay, we're on our way
Everyone has their dreams
I like to be ready

[Instrumental Break]

[Verse 2]
The flight is not meant to prove anything
Except that all of this will soon become routine
And there has to be a beginning of everything

[Bridge]
Earhart and her companion speed down the runway as they leave Honolulu for Howland island
Something's wrong
She's losing control
Amelia in crack-up while attempting to take off, tire blew off, one wheel off, propellor—
Plane over on one side, repairable
Only our spirits were burned
Earhart's husband, George Putnam, said she would continue with the flight
Plane cabin will be repaired and she will go on
I can't go west? I'll go the other way
[Outro]
She begins her journey anew
No longer flying always west
But east, towards the dawn
