Prelude To Into The Dark (Live From Topeka Correctional Facility)
Man, there comes a point, when you're
When you're like, "Okay
I've had the trauma, I know, I've had it, we all have had it, okay, okay"
And then you gotta like, okay, time to, time to move on to the hope, you know
Time to move on to the future
Because that is everything you got right now
Right now and the future
So I'm gonna do a song that, um
This was on my like 1999 record called Breakdown
And this song, uh
This song
This song was about the time that I was like, you know what
I gotta let all that stuff go
I gotta start looking to the future
So I wrote a song, thesе were actually all of the nightmarеs I used to have
About my childhood, you know, you get those recurring things over and over and over and over and over, now, yes, all those
So I put them into a song
And the meaning of this song is you know what
Sometimes you gotta pull all that stuff out, you gotta go "Okay
I've been so afraid of this, all this that I've been so afraid of
I can move through it now, I'm just gonna walk through that fear
I'm gonna get through that, I'm gonna get to the other side"
Sometimes, you gotta go into your soul, into your heart
And into the dark
