David O’Dowda
Rain
Take me walking in the rain
I can feel the spaces in the water
Let's snake between the drops
But where's the joy of staying dry
That's why I reach out to the clouds
As if they're singing to me

Take me walking in the rain
I can hear the quiet inside the music
Dancing to the rhythm
As it tumbles from the sky
That's why I reach out for the clouds
As if they're burning like fire

The water's warm
I don't need no shelter
From the storm
Safe as my childhood bed
Mother's arms
Wrapped around me

Take me walking in the rain
I can feel the spaces in the water
Let's snake between the drops
But where's the joy of staying dry
That's why I run towards the clouds
Like they're the summit
